Hi,
Was wondering if anyone would be interested participating in games intended for increasing skill with other mature players? For once I would like to play a game without another player spewing random insulting crap at me, and being all "oooh gg pwnt" "u sux0rz at teh JK" at the end of a game. Regardless I enjoy playing JK with everyone, but there comes a time when I want to play games not focused on winning, but rather increasing one's skill. 😉
Dunno bad/good idea? Scream your thoughts at me. 😉
Note: This isn't whining - I have respect for all JK players - I simply would like to sometimes play games with more mature players.

i have noticed this issue you talk about, and it bothers me
it seems like a lot of people are afraid to play JK because they feel they have some "reputation" to uphold
its retarded...
i'm not an NF gunner but i play NF guns all the time nowadays cuz thats the most popular setting.. i even play 1v1's with people when i know i'm going to get owned, but i don't care because i just love JK
theres only a few people who will 1v1 with me, and its all people who know they can beat me, but i play them anyway because 1) i love JK and 2) thats how you get better
i talk a lot of shit in the chat room and shit but i would never shit on someone after they played a game with me and helped me get my JK-Crack-Addicition-Fix..
i talk shit as a joke most of the time, but i should probably stop, because people seem to be taking it seriously... and then they don't want to play against me....
anyway - i'm on #jk and #dsbr and if i'm around chatting, i'm always up for a game -- any setting
so please hit me up for a game, and i am even willing to train people in FF or CTF if they so desire

First off, I would suggest you stop using hacks (as you were recently caught doing in CTF Coret), or your skill will never increase. Second, you should play more CTF Nar games with us, I will even teach you (or anybody else for that matter) the codes, and certain jumps you would have to know...

The "Caught Hacking" you are referring to is non existant. I was not caught hacking, I simply inadvertantly triggered Coret's built in AHP When I joined, it's built in "AHP" jailed me and printed the standard "System Integrity Compromised by " message. All this means is that my local player fell under one of a couple AHP conditions set in the AHP cog.
The reason the AHP was triggered is because I had a spectator cog loaded, which I intended to use to watch the upcoming CTF game.
If you had been paying attention, you would remember me saying this in #coret:

To which dsbr-nate(Interloper) replied in the affirmative, and I loaded up the Spectator .gob checksum passing mod in Patch Commander.
The exact file can be obtained here:

And you will see that it is in fact a .gob file that can be loaded into Patch Commander. I had no cog folder containing hacks nor did I have any other cogs, items, ect loaded except for the Spectator patch.
It was not until LATER that I was informed that it was acceptable for me to play despite that fact the game would contain uneven teams. By this point I had already launched Jedi Knight and had forgotten that I had a Specatator mod loaded.

and another thing, it would be great if more people actually played, there's an average of 20 or so people who idle in #Jk, and maybe 4 or 5 people who are actually active players.. i don't know if it's because they are "afraid" to play, to withhold their so-called JK status, or if they even have the game.
oh, and people who shit talk others for sucking at JK, are worthless, it's 2006 for christ sakes, people who play now should play for the love of the game and not to prove something. you can still play competitively without being an asshole about it..

Great post there scott..., #jk has become crap with nonstop "shit talking" all day, and no games. One of the greatest parts of this game is talking about it, and that is constantly being prevented by the nonstop crap that gets typed in #jk, and same goes for trying to organize and play games.
I am well aware "shit talking" is something that has always been taken for granted with JK, but for god sakes, grow up or take it somewhere else...the number of actively playing people in #jk has decreased so dramatically it's time somebody do something.... I think we all know BeefCaike dosen't want to do something unpopular like that, unfortionately...
