I didn't realize Triscuit hooked you up, that's awesome. As far as the Linux/WinX question, you don't have a choice unfortunately. The network technology behind JK, DirectPlay, is only compatible with Windows.

I have been testing a JKSERVER on a spare IBM workstation for about a week now and have determined that the best deployment is to use a Win2k/WinXP box with nothing on it except JK. There are a few addon apps that can increase the usefulness of your JKSERVER, these are JK2IRC, JK2WEB, and JKLOGGER. I am playing with these at the moment.
