Gamespy ARCADE its FREE and better than IGZ..

Well following RaFS lead I have tryed out the Jedi Knight Dark Forces2 room in gamespy ARCADE and it is great for hosting / joining games. So far I think it has some great advantages over IRC and IGZ for playing jk...

1. You can host a game room (just like on the zone or igz)

2. No searching copying pasting ip numbers you just click launch if you the host or join up if your joining a game.

3. Tis fast and doesn't lag..

4. Have not tested extensively with many people yet but so far it appears to bypass security problems with much less trouble than trying to manually configure for ip game..

5. You can actually see games that are taking place if you join the room after they are already started. No more idling for an hour thinking everyone is AFK only to have several people post THAT WAS AN AWESOME GAME!!!! MAN YOU MISSED IT!!!

6. NO BUGS... I have had no issues with gamespy ARCADE

7.Has voice chat in lobby or in game. (have not tested this yet)

I was not present for the IGZ unveiling however from what I understand it really helped the community for awhile before the bugz drove people away from it. I really think that Gamespy ARCADE is an answer to this problem all it will take is for people to come join us there....

If you are on IRC then get on gamespy and check it out or if you are inactive and have not been on IRC then here's how to get GameSpy ARCADE and join the Jedi Knight room.

(# 2) Install it...

(# 3) It will detect the games on your system.. If you do not see JK listed then click the "scan my computer for additional games link"

(# 4) Enter your Email address

(# 5) Register you account and go to your Email and open the email from gamespy and click on the verify your email link

How to log onto gamespy ..

(# 1) Click on the Game Spy arcade link on your desktop or if you didnt select create a desktop icon go to start/programs/ gamespy arcade...

(# 2) Login with your account name and password

(# 4) At any times if you see adds pop up do not click the adds... Click the GREEN X on the right side to cancel the add.

(# 3) Click on the Jedi Knight room link on the left side... Again if an add pops up cancel it with the GREEN X on the right side...

(# 5) Join the main Lobby....

(# 6) Now you can Create a game (host) or join an existing game.....
