I remember playing JK several years ago at home and my mom mentioned how addicted I was, and said it probably had something to do with the noise hynotizing me.
I was playing FF Oasis at the time, and it made me think....I for one have to admit that the combination of the force speed and force sight sounds being on the entire game does kind of put me in an odd trance...
Force sight's sound especially seems very hypnotic...makes you wonder if Lucasarts did that purposely to get people addicted? They did use similar sounds for the force powers in JO and JA...
Anybody else seem to be affected by this or anything else in the game?
Its a conspiracy..You can close your eyes but not your mind to the subliminal messages that hide therein. haha!

For 2 years I played FF Bespin and that sound got ingrained into my head of force seeing,.. so much that I would hear the sound apart from the game,.. the sound like became a drug and I had to keep the sound playing (i.e. play JK) or I was on edge.
The sound of the saber also is a very calming, mentally stimulating sound. I used to hold Z in constantly and hear the constant pattern of woomp wooomp.. My parents heard the sound day in and day out for years on end.. and my dad said I used to be playing "woomp Woomp" (Jedi Knight sabers). A lot of the time when I'm sabering, I just swing because the sound enthralls me, so I swing a lot.. a lot more than I need be to be successful.

The best sound was IR goggles on/off. It sounds like Kyle is busting a nut. AHHHH AHHHHHHH. That or you've got the fieldlight on/off sound. That's a fun one to button mash. I'm sure there's people to this day that still believe I have a God toggle, and that I was just too stupid to get rid of the sound. Anyone who's ever played me knows I suck too bad for that.
I remember WD_Exar_Kun saying he had to quit playing JK because he couldn't get the speed/seeing noises out of his head. And he was starting to dream about JK. I thought that was funnier than shit until a year and a half later when I had my first JK dream.
Someone should have made a forum for parents to air their grievances against JK stealing their kids life away back in the day. I'd like to see some testimonials.
ya we could probably get a lawsuit going to be honest.. I wasted probably about 2000 hours of my life on JK if not more. that's 2000 * minimum wage 5.25 an hour.. I could of made 10,000 in the time I was playing JK.
