Wrong. Take a look at the Zone interface. That was replaced in late 1998 as I'm sure you remember. 😉

its impossible for the community to have taken a plunge from 1.5 thousand players between trial, oasis, and nar to 140 given the time frame. Just doesn't look right.

Wrong. The maximum number of players in one Zone Lobby was 300 all the way from 1997 to the end in 2006. That means Nar is only missing 122 players. This is easily possible because in 97/98, other lobbies were sometimes just as popular or even more so than Nar, and there may have been no particular rush for everyone to fill up Nar at that particular time. Also, it could easily have been a holiday or a time of day where activity was lower.

Yeah you are right. It would always take me forever to get into Nar because it was so full.

Yup it always took effort to get into and sometimes took quite awhile to get your own room since all 75 rooms would be occupied A LARGE portion of the time. 122 players is just not feasible in that time period. Only possibility would be a 4am player, an aussie that only played at that time, or some other sort of modification.

yeah total bummer that we didnt like a cooler game. fatal1ty's all on MTV and shit. I'm gonna take a guess here but I'm pretty sure that we would rape him. At this game at least, maybe a couple others (not sure how good he is at tekken or dance dance revolution). But where's my commercial dammit? Where's my 15 minutes of fame? NO fuckin fair.
