Perhaps someone who's traveled the world more than I can come up with a better idea - it also depends on where you live, however, here is my suggestion:
A year or two ago, I stayed in Carolina Beach, North Carolina at a Mariott hotel RIGHT on the beach, it was great.

I am pretty sure the building is designed so that all of the rooms are facing out to the water, absolutely great view, great beach too, huge streach of shorline and good waves and stuff. 😉
So...yeah that's my recommendation. Not sure how far you want to travel and stuff.

Stay fresh; leave the USA at least once a month. That way you will only have to deal with just enough of it.
Go to Cancun. Even though Cancun is a place where single people go to vacation, a lot of married people go as well. Go to the Hilton Cancun, make sure you get the Villas: right next to the beach. The Hilton has a couple and older type atmosphere if you're looking for that. It's just like those beer commercials, at the beach with no one there to bother you.

Vacationing in America is convenient and the enviorment is familiar 😉 it's not nessecary to leave the country in order to have one hell of a vacation.

i've never left my country, i wish i had the privilege, but i haven't.
Travel to a major American city. If you live in one, make it your own. Try living as a homeless person for a week. It'll be fun AND educational!
