Where did you first Get/Play Jedi Knight?

Myself I got JK in '99(I think, it was a long time ago) and I had two phone lines in my house for a while so I would play JK with friends over a modem connection at my house or I would call a friend up, host a game, and give them my phone number. Haha I don't miss dialup, it was insane what I had to go through to play a MP game of JK. Things got better when I got a crossover cable, soon followed by access to the WORLD WIDE WEB.

Of course, I had Trial before that(Oct '07). 😉

I obtained this video game in late October 1997 and was rank 1 in the world in December 1997 on Cases Ladder. Also in December 1997 I was accepted into the #3 JK clan. Subsequentially I played Dark Forces I in 1996 and became a Jedi Master in single player (mp didnt exist) :s

I also went 48-1 on cases under the alias CaptainCrunch, my only loss was to Legacy. I went from unranked to rank 8 in about 6 days.

I was top ranked 7 times under the MaJeSTiK account which I purchased for a good friend of mine (Majestik himself), so we shared the gold account.

Dark Forces was my first PC game ever. well scratch that california games was, then doom. BUt I bought dark forces with my own money back in 1994. Then in 1997 darkforces 2 came out Of course i had to buy that.

hmm, my friend at work threw me a burnt CD back when burning CD's was new, he said you gotta try this game!!! so i did, it was wicked but my stupid IBM aptiva would barely run it with its integrated RAGE1.23 video card and my NETZERO limited account...lol, it turned off every 15 min cuz it wasnt paid dial up (trial version)

damn....lol, thats sad. but hell if the game wasnt good! unfortunatley i started playing about 5 months before the new Jedi Knight game came out...uhmm..Jedi Academy? so i saw zone die

JK is the best game made, a true classic that provides fun gameplay and that old fashioned feel. I got JK at a walmart for 10 bux and played it online for about 3 years.

I don't have my original box around anymore (who knows where it ended up) but I remember buying my copy around March of 1999 that also came with MOTS, and fondly remembering at the time the salesman at the store TRYING to convince me to buy X-wing Alliance (XWA) which was brand new still at the time.

In the end I bought XWA a couple years later but I'm glad I got JK when I did.

I, honest to god, have played on and off since '97 or '98. I don't have the box... *sob* Surprisingly, I do have the Dark Forces box. I don't have a special case... I got the version with MotS.

First time I played it was in University residence. A neighbour of mine was a real hardcore SW fan. This was already in 1999 when I finally found out about it.

He installed it on my comp, and since you only needed one of the two CDs to load multiplayer, we played against each other and some of his friends. It was within one week of me getting it and learning how to play that I went onto the zone to see how to play it on there. I stumbled into a game with SM_Butcher and SM_Vader_X. That's when my real passion for the game began.

And that's how you got into the clan?

i bought jk when i was in 5th grade for 65 dollars at target. i'm now a freshman in college so it's been a long time. i first played jk sp on a 90 mhz pc with 16 mb of ram

i started in 98, i was the ultimate clan whore until late 99 when it was fashionable, some times being in 8 or 9 clans at once for 4-5 months at a time only showing up to play in tournaments. aliased in a few cwts and i was a ladder whore. so that pretty much sums my jk playing days up, i wouldnt be able to remember 1/4th of my clans or aliases. and i basically quit early 2000, i started playing again just recently on irc.

edit: i still use the same computer today that i had when i first started playing jk ... just i got better internet now
