Warfare
Author: [TSM_Zuljin] Reviewer: [jturcio]
- Aesthetics:
- This level has very little going for it by way of aesthetics. Both of the pictures show almost the entire level (the main area). The only areas you dont see is a branch off of one side leading to an unrealistic water area (the kind where you in air one second and then walk into water) with two doors. Behind one of these doors is a control room of sorts that contains a few traps, one of which has a camera that shows you a small room in the main area getting blasted with concussion shells for almost a minute. There was no lighting present in this level (it was the dflt lighting). The texturing was very bland, and contained many easily correctable texture misalignments.
- Gameplay:
- With the number of super shields and heavy weapons, this level is almost unplayable as it pretty much comes down to who gets to the supershield(s) first. The item placement in this level was also horrible as it was too easy to get a hold of the big guns, and the
health/shield powerups. The only change in the gameplay is a room full of rail detonator stormtroopers, and bossks wielding concussion rifles. These AI are activated when that door in the second picture is opened. The flow in this level was terrible as well. If you go into that area that I mentioned in the aesthetics paragraph, you'll find only one way in, and one way out.
- Final Comments:
- Dont download it. As the author said, its his first level, and, as such a level, it can be added to the many examples of why level authors should never release their first level.
